Thirty five years after the passage of Resolution 36/37 establishing the International Day of Peace and nearly four years in observance of the passage of Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security, PeaceDay365 is excited to once again present the Peace Day Youth Summit during the United Nations General Assembly. This annual summit brings an opportunity to learn about actions being taken by government, business and young people toward the achievement of the SDGs and in particular, SDG16 (Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions). The Summit's highlight brings awareness to the global celebration of #PeaceDay which has generated 7.6 billion impressions on social media in previous years, and shares a cross-platform message of peace.

The International Day of Peace has been established as the 21st of September and Secretary General, António Gutteres has maintained this year’s theme: Right to Peace: The Universal Declaration of Human Rights at 70 which "...recognizes the inherent dignity and equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human race." The theme also asks us to contemplate the "Right to Peace" and share our ideas and thoughts using the #standup4humanrights and, as always, #peaceday. By promoting, engaging and reflecting on peaceful resolutions everyone can make a difference. More information can be found at: www.un.org/peaceday/

PeaceDay365 established the Peace Day Youth Summit as a multi-stakeholder platform to discuss trends and challenges in promoting peace and identifying opportunities for youth action with the Sustainable Development Goals and Global Citizenship Education.

Join us as we #standup4humanrights this September at the United Nations.
